Technical difficulty's at tech

Today at tech we were making different things on Tinkercad.com. We were learning how to make an eye using only cylinders how amazing is that. We learnt how to group different shapes align shapes how to make holes where you want them to be and we also learnt to rotate the cylinders to 180 degrees. I have been enjoying tech so far and thats a fact.

Why my blog is unique

Our blogs are interactive  websites where you can see other people’s learning and thinking. Our blogs have a global audience which means it is viewed from lots of places around the world. Are you aware all blogs are not the same?

The blogs we have  keep a record of our learning over time and show what we have been doing in class. They are unique because we post different things. For example people from different countries may have different views, videos and comments than me or you.

Do you want to  know why my blog is unique? My blog shows that I understand what task I was given. When I had to post something on my blog for the first time I was really nervous because I didn't know what people would say about my work.

We were confident enough to write and post our very first blog post.  We learnt how to create and share our  work from our teachers that have been  teaching us from year 4. It is great to share our learning with the global audience.

Have you ever wondered why we have a blog? That is because we are all unique in our own way and we have different thinking to anybody else. Are you aware that you can never throw away your blog but you can throw away your books.

About three weeks ago we had to write something called a explanation. I completed this explanation with Magenta. First we had to write a introduction, once we finished writing a introduction we then had to write three paragraphs explaining why our blogs were unique. The last task we had to do was to create a conclusion

Futsal and Tennis

 Today we had to do a DLO about Futsal and tennis. We had Futsal and Tennis at the Dunkirk tennis grounds. It was a fun and awesome experiences to be able to go and play Futsal and Tennis at the same time. I thank Martin and Neville for letting us come and play on the real grounds.

Camp 2017

Today I had to do a DLO with my camp activity group. Our group did high ropes, archery, chariot racing and more. My favourite activity was High ropes. This is what our groups DLO looks like after we finished.

Kokako bird

Today I was learning about the Kokako Bird. I completed this DLO with Magenta,Savelina and Brooklyn. We have come up with ideas from when we were at camp last week. In our DLO it will tell you about what they eat, what they look like and what type of bird they are. I hope you like our DLO because this took a long time.

Camp Celebration [camp]

Today we had to complete a photo story about what we did at camp. A photo story shows what you have been doing during the time you were or what you did. Since our main focus was camp that was what we wrote about. My photos explain what I did in all of the four days at camp. I really enjoyed completing this kind of DLO and I can imagine myself doing this again.

As my heart raced out of my chest I was making my first move on the high beam. I could hear my feet quivering under my breath each step I took was even more heart pounding than ever. As I touched the pole on the other side I had never felt more alive, it was like winning a medal for the 100m race.

When I took my first gulp of fresh air I thought I was ready to pull myself back to the other side. Until the beam felt like it was wobbling under my feet.  But I knew it was only in my head. Each step was much more breathtaking than before.

The beam felt five feet higher off the ground looking down. My confidence was slowly fading. Until I pushed all my confidence back into my body and lept off like a angel. As hard as it was I kept all my victory to myself as I walked to the seat to have a well deserved rest.



Today I finished all my writing about camp. We had 5 minutes to complete this task and let me tell you it was super easy to accomplish. This is what I have done so far. This task was called 5 minutes of camp. My recount is about high ropes.

People living Auckland have been asked to conserve water. Why?

On Friday Sa Kae, Jorja and I started a  DLO about People living Auckland have been ask to conserve water Why? The question was a brain beating question that we all had to think about. Our DLO Shows our learning and thinking  in our own words. It took a little bit of time to figure out what we were going to write about. I think we worked well as a team to create our DLO. Tell me how people living Auckland have been asked to conserve water and how. Here is one way you can save water in your house. If its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down.

2D models

This morning we had Tech. Today at tech we did something called 2 D models compare and contrast. Basically you  had to find the differences and the similarities. What are similarities? Similarities are what they have in common or what they have the same. Differences everyone knows what differences means but if you don't this is what they mean. Differences are what makes them unique and special in there own way. I love tech and cant wait on going again

The Hunua Ranges

This map shows where my house, the Papakura wave pools,Kokako lodge, School and the Hunua Ranges. To make this one of these template you first have to go to your drive and press google maps. Since I don't want to make anyone fall asleep of boredom Ill just tell you the last step. You then now have to embed or take a screen shot. Then post it on your blog. I really liked doing this work because it helped me on learning the different areas in Auckland.

Hungry puppies

In the middle block we did maths. Before I could move on to playing this game that I will tell you about later,we had to work with Mrs Kiripatrick. If we got the first set of eight questions of decimals that miss gave us right we had to say thank you Harry. Unfortunately  I was the only girl that passed the first round. I played a game called Hungry puppies. This game is a really helpful game that can help you on learning you decimal numbers. And that is what I did for maths.

Tinkercad at Technology

 

This morning LS2 went to tech. In my group we learnt how ton use Tinkercad. On Tnkercad you are the designer,we had to go before we could get started we had to sign up. After we were signed in we did lessons to get us ready for the challenges. Tinkercad was a little bit hard for me to do because it was a new app for me. I love tech a lot mostly because I learn something new every week

The Omaru river

This afternoon we did inquiry. I completed this DLO with my friend Sa Kae. Our main focus was about the Omaru river. We had to read three articles. After we finished reading all three articles we then had to do an DLO about the positive's that people that have done to help the Omaru river,and the Negative's that people have been doing to the river like throwing their rubbish in to the river. Just because the river is just like any other river doesn't mean we treat it any different.

Today for reading we were reading articles online. The article that caught our little eyes was Christchurch police told to remove 343 litres of alcohol poured down the drain. Together as a group we manged to complete the task we were given. 

Fruit splat

Today for maths the stars [my maths group] played a game called fruit splat. This game is about the greatest number and the lest greatest numbers. For example one 2 and 4- the GCF [ greatest common factor} will be 2. I really like playing this maths game and I can see myself playing this game in the future.

Read theory!

Read theory This afternoon we did read theory. Read theory is a really helpful game that helps you practice reading and thinking.  I really like this app because it helps me with my own thinking.
