I was a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I was in Learning Space 2 and my teachers were Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

10th annual Manaiakalani Film Festival
Yesterday was the 10th annual Manaiakalani film festival. We went to Sylvia Park Hoyts cinemas. This was a great experience. It was cool watching other schools movies that they have created in there classrooms. Our bus was late so we missed our seats and almost all of the movies so we booked in for the next show as guest. We ended going into the Xtreme screen when the movies were close to the end. Since we were guests during the next session we didn't get the seats we wanted. My personal favourite movie was from Tamaki school where there are three girls and they sing through out the movie. Afterwards when we got back to school we did blog comments.

Hexaflexagon
Through out the day I was finishing my hexaflexagon. I enjoyed crating my own designs and using my own colours. A hexaflexagon is a three sided shape that has different patterns on each side. Something I found hard about this was tring to put it together and something I found easy was choosing the colours to use. This was part of a maths project that turned out to be quite fun. My favourite side on my hexaflexagon is the on in the photo. I hope we do this again sometime in the future.

Rewindable Learning For Dance
Today we were practising our dance for the end of the term dance production. Our dance coach was Zoe. We were split into three groups A, B and C. In our three groups we have different moves and songs. Those songs are Staying alive, I see red and Footloose. The song we are doing is Staying alive. We have practised over and over this is called rewindable . Rewindable learning is when you can watch or practice something over and over. This was really fun in every way possible. We had our very first dance practice yesterday and we have already picked up on a lot.

Digi Tech
Today at tech we went at Tamaki college. We have one more week of digi tech until we move on to our next activity. Our main focus was on healthy living in the Tamaki community. We had to make a movie on scratch to explain what healthy living is. I chose to do laziness. I am making a movie on why being lazy is not a good idea. I am still working on getting my movie done but I am almost finish. I have learnt the different parts and things I can do on scratch. The easy thing to do was pick the characters because I already knew what to choose. The hard thing to do was to choose the right background to fit my theme. This was a fun task to do.

How Maui Slowed The Sun.
This afternoon Sky and I were working on storyboard that to finish our comic strip about how 'Maui slowed the sun.' As you might already know this is an Maori myth passed on from generations. We have used our own words in this comic strip. We have told three parts of the story because this was a set task. I found this task somewhere in the middle because it wasn't hard but it wasn't easy. I really enjoyed doing this because I found this fun to create. Instead of telling you what the story was about we show you. It is kind of like show and tell. If you read the story you will find out what part we have chosen to do. Trying to find the right background was tricky because they were all modern backrounds This is what we got up to.

Duffy Books
Yesterday we got our second load of Duffy books. Sadly I was not here on this day because I was at a funeral. I got an Infinity ring book. I am going to so much fun reading it because it will give me something to do. I have read all of my Duffy books in one day because I get bored and don't want to move anywhere. My favourite books are Tom Gates, Eric Vale much much more. Here is our class and what they chose to read. Remember "It's cool to read".

Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice
Yesterday I completed a google slide about the winter solstice. I did this with Mishaan but she was away most of the days I did this. While Mishaan was away Magenta helped me to finish my animation. We have put in facts about the winter solstice and summer solstice. We have done this to the best of ability. This piece of art will take you on an journey to out of space without even noticing you are! So sit back relax and enjoy the magic.

Matariki The Maori New Year
This afternoon Mishaan and I were working on this DLO about Matariki. We have put in what there names are, who they visit and why they visit that person. We have made this to the best of our ability. I have enjoyed making this DLO because we did not get any help on the information. My favourite part was doing how many sisters there are. Why? Because I already knew what the sisters name were. This is our learning in our own words.

GO ALL BLACKS!
Today was black out day to support the All Blacks for there game tomorrow. Our whole school sang a song called Tutira Mai to and the boys in the kapa haka did an amazing haka. We wish the All Blacks all the best for there game against the lions. We also did some awesome activities like spell All Blacks with the whole school and we did a game where we passed the ball around the court while Mr Wong was videoing from above with our school drone. But we are not finish there my friend oh no, after we finished passing the ball we took a photo behind our new school poster to top it all off. If I had to rate my day today it would be a 10. Why? Because we had technology this morning, we have new water storers for our garden and our videos are going to be sent to the All Blacks. The winner will be rewarded with the All Blacks coming to our school! How cool would that be? I had an amazing and I hope for this day to come back around. GO ALL BLACKS!

What Is Soft Plastic?
This afternoon I was learning about soft plastic. Mrs Caroline ( one of our first aid teachers) was teaching LS2 about soft plastics and what that is. I created this DLO about what soft plastic and facts you may or may not know about soft plastics. For example if I had a piece of glad wrap I would be able to scrunch it into a ball. That is considered as soft plastic. If I had a biscuit tray and I tried to scrunch it into a ball it will be a lot harder to scrunch up. This is my finished work. I really enjoyed doing this, have fun reading!

El cadejo Read Theory
For reading I did Read Theory. I was reading a legend called the El cadejo. This legend is about a wolfs that can be black or white. The white El cadejo is a good wolf that can help travellers find there way and give good luck. But the black El cadejo hunts other animals and even people. I really enjoyed reading this story becaus eit sent chills up my spine as I continued reading. You should try this amazing website because you might just learn something new.
